Support our troops! They need our support more than ever. Cards and letters would help keep their morale up. If you do not know anyone in the military, then find the red cross nearest you, they may have a list or know where to go to get one.
The Citizen Corps. This is a great place to learn what you can do to help & to be prepared.
Another place is FEMA..
At FEMA you can learn how to be prepared for an emergency, where to go, and what the plans are covering your area. FEMA also has some educational classes available for free.

On an entirely different supbject: HughesNet uses fraudulent claims to get customers. They will sell you one thing and you actually recieve another. Their customer service (an oxymoron if I ever heard one) will tell you anything to get you off the phone, true or not, it makes no difference. That is when you can actually get someone to answer! They are not ethical and their practices are quasi-legal (doesn't make them right). They will also sell you expensive equipment and then less than 6 months later require you to buy the "upgrade" equipment if you want to get what they conned you for. HugheNet is perhaps one of the biggest "scam artists" out there! So always remember..."Let the Buyer Beware!"
